Dating is a selection process to help find the perfect match for you. Imagine you have met a beautiful girl and she has agreed to go out with you. What are you going to do to make sure you both have a great time? It doesn’t matter whether you have been on several dates or if you have not dated in years, if you want it to be a success, then you need to know how to handle yourself. You need to know these six most important rules of dating.

1.   Look your best. This doesn’t mean that you need to go buy expensive clothes and try to look like a model, but basic hygiene and decent looking, clean clothes are a must. Your appearance is vital for her first impression of you and you want to make that impression a good one.

2.  Be on time. Never be late for your date for any reason unless it is an absolute emergency. Nobody likes to wait for some one, especially a date, so make sure you show up when you say you will. In fact, even a few minutes earlier would probably be better.

3.  Pay attention to your date. Listen to what she says, show interest and give her your undivided attention. After all, you want to get to know her so use that time to find out as much about her as possible. Ask lots of questions and give her time to talk. People love to talk about themselves and you date will most likely be no different.

4.  Flattery and compliments will make her feel fantastic. Chances are she made a big effort to look wonderful, so let her know that you notice and appreciate how terrific she looks.

5.  Be courteous and use all those manners you mother taught you. She will think you are such a gentleman and be very impressed. Above all, do not drink too much and get drunk or be rude. This will make her want to run away as fast as she can.

6.   Be confident and be yourself. If you are confident, it will show through and you both will have more fun. Also, just relax and be yourself. There is no need to try to act like someone else. You are you so don’t try to change! Besides, she needs to get to know the real you, not the person you think she wants you to be.
