When one is comfortable with dating, it is such a fun experience for whatever age group. There is that different feeling of fulfillment and sheer joy as you meet a person you seem to have things in common with. The dating experience not only provides you a means of finding your future life partner but also gives you a chance of pursuing meaningful relationships. It could also be a way of getting to know you better for through dating, the side of yourself that you are less familiar with is being unraveled – so you get to learn about yourself as well.
When one is out on a date, what one must do in order to make the date a memory to cherish? Are there strict guidelines to follow? There are none actually, but I’ve put together some helpful tips in order for you to make the most out of your date. These tips are really important so that you would be able to act well and enjoy the rest of the time you have with that special person.
Observe punctuality.
Be on time or maybe even a little early. Time matters in almost any meeting or activity, it matters most on a date, especially if it is the first date. First impressions last and you have to take good care of your date’s impression of you. It may mean something negative if you fail to arrive on time. Unless it is a life or death situation, there are no excuses for being late. If you are late, that first impression will be tarnished and difficult to repair. So make sure you show up on time!
Remind yourself that you are just excited and be yourself.
That strange pumping of your heart is just going to distract you from doing well and enjoying your time. It is normal to feel that way, but do not allow it to swallow you and stop you from doing the things you want to do. If you cannot stand the feeling, see to it that you divert that emotion to something that is more positive. Instead of feeling nervous, you have to remind yourself that you are just excited. This could really help you ease the burden of being worried or pressured. Being nervous is actually quite normal and one of the main causes is the expectation of your date. Just remind yourself that what you want from the date is just to get to know the other person and learn about the person. The date should be about the other person not about you.
Honesty is still the best policy
You do not have to impress your date by telling tall tales. Sincerity and honesty would always lead you to acceptance from others. With your honest way of opening yourself to that person you choose to go out with, you would surely reap a warm and honest treatment as well. You could appear impressive without being dishonest. When you are true to what you say and feel, your sincerity comes through. If you focus on the other person, you do not have to worry too much about honesty because the other party is doing all the talking.
Treasure the date experience and express it through a short note after the date via a love letter.
This is probably the most important aspect to build trust. Write a short “love” letter explaining how you enjoyed the date. Even if the date was awful, pick out something nice to say and you can ensure that a beautiful relationship will bloom. If this is the first date, make sure that the love letter is not too forward or emotional. It may drive the other person away. If unsure, just a “thank you” type mini love letter, with one specific thing you liked about the date should be adequate. The specific thing could be a topic you talked about, something your partner had worn or a smile or a joke she had cracked. The main idea is to tell the other person that you enjoyed the company and if you want to have another date, this little gesture of a mini love letter will definitely get you another interesting second date where you can be even more yourself.
These are four helpful tips that could help make your date heavenly. Remember, this is just the first step to building a lasting relationship. Happy Dating!
