Wedding ceremonies have now become so diverse that they can be performed anywhere, anytime, and anyplace. There is much to be said about having a dream holiday, a wedding, and having everyone you hold dear in one location. But the best part, aside from the getting married part, is the little piece of space a couple can call their own called a honeymoon. Now that a vast array of choices have become available, and couples becoming more adventurous with their honeymoon plans, then surely winter honeymoon destinations can even be considered adventurous and romantic.

There is a certain romance to getting married in winter and an even more romantic overtone in having a winter honeymoon. Crackling fires, hot cocoa, and a blanket in front of a fireplace seems like a cozy situation for anyone. Indeed, not only is a winter honeymoon all about canoodling in front of the fire, but can also be an adventurous one at that.

For couples keen on adventure, there are loads of places to ski, snowboard, and riding snowmobiles. Aspen, Colorado has been a popular destination in the United States, easily accessible and loaded with shops and other tourist attractions; it has a lot of ski resorts ranging from pricey ones to intimate hotels. If your tastes are not on the sports aspect, you can head on over to Utah for the Sundance Film Festival where loads of independent films are released every year.

Couples who want to do the whole nine yards with regard to winter honeymoons can do so in Europe. What better way to experience a romantic getaway and experience culture? The Swiss Alps, France, Italy, Austria are huge destinations for many skiers. In fact, since all these places are bound by one continent, couples could even take detours and explore the neighboring countries, towns, and cities.

Winter honeymoon destinations are also good places to relax and chill. Many couples do tend to go to spas to take out the stresses of the day and relieve those muscles after skiing and exploring. There are winter destinations with hot springs and wellness places to relax from after all the months of worries of planning a wedding. A lot of couples also tend to “go native” by trying out the food, customs, and finding those off the beaten track places tourists overlook.

Baseball themed weddings are a popular choice for many couples looking to spread the word of their intention to play on the same team for life.  While there seems to be many ideas for incorporating baseball into your ceremony or wedding decorations, I couldn’t find a whole lot of ideas about making your wedding invitations reflect the baseball theme.  So, here are some ideas to help you brainstorm about what your baseball wedding invitations should look like.

Since you use a ticket to get into a baseball game, some couples choose to use a ticket to invite guests to their wedding.  Many reputable stationery shops offer customized tickets for many events, including weddings.  Some will allow you to choose the colors of the tickets as well to further match your wedding.  Baseball tickets are a fun way to start your wedding out on the right theme.  However, since they are an unusual invitation, they are considered more casual so if your wedding is going to be a formal affair, make sure you mention that fact if you choose to have baseball ticket wedding invitations.

Another option would be to use a traditional printed invitation, but with subtle baseball hints.  For example, a white invitation with blue embossed lettering, red accents, and baseball themed ribbon.  Or perhaps you could find a wax seal of your team’s logo to “impress” the recipients of your themed intentions.  Even a single baseball added to the design of your invitation can convey the baseball theme to your guests, so don’t feel like you need to go overboard or be themed on every aspect of your wedding.

If you are on a tighter budget, you can do what I did and pick a design that you like, and make it yourself.  Baseball scrapbook paper, stickers, and ribbon could all be tastefully and artfully combined to make a beautiful, unique, and classy invitation for your wedding.  The key is to find a design that you like and personalize it.  The way I did this was to use a simple square invitation with a solid background and accented inset card.  This was covered in vellum with the lettering printed on it.  Ribbon through the top combined the three layers.  To personalize this invitation, I chose to put a black and white picture beneath the vellum instead of the accented inset card.  Making your own invitations is really not difficult and can save you quite a bit of money.
